After arrival in Iceland it is relatively easy to go around Reykjavik using bike in the summer and/or public transportation, but we would recommend a rental car or arranged tours if you wish to go outside of the capital city.
When travelling in Iceland on your own it is extremely important to watch weather broadcasts, even during the summer months. Driving off-road is illegal in Iceland, and can lead to hefty fines.
